Nexans Project - Gabion Mattress Installation
Nexans Norway AS awarded Hallin Marine with a contract to provide subsea services in support of Mattress Installation Programme at Hainan Island, China.
Hallin provided an integrated marine and subsea package by mobilizing the DP2 Seacor Penrith and 2 Hallin’s work class ROV’s, C-ROV 02 & 04. After the trenching of the power cables by Nexans, Hallin carried out the Post trenching survey prior to the Mattress installation works. Gabion mattresses were installed on exposed cable locations in a maximum waterdepth of 97m.
The Gabion mattresses were lifted into place with the vessel crane whereby the ROV inspected position and released the mattress from the installation frame. On completion of the mattress installation, ROV carried out Post installation survey with Multibeam echo sounder. A successful project for Hallin.
