Hallin Announces New Contract Awards - US$7.25million

Hallin Marine, the AIM quoted provider of subsea solutions to the oil and gas industry, announces it has been awarded two new contracts for saturation diving services with a combined value of US$7.25million.

Following the signing of a US$4.25million contract with the Oslo quoted Prosafe, the Hallin operated vessel, the Sanko Angel, equipped with saturation diving equipment and specialist subsea personnel and operators, will be heading to the Hardy operated PY3 Field, offshore India.

Here Hallin will provide subsea and saturation diving intervention and install a riser system to Prosafe’s Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel, the Endeavour. This work scope is scheduled for February 2008.

Hallin is also mobilising a nine man saturation diving system, together with specialist subsea personnel and operators for US major offshore construction contractor J. Ray McDermott, which is working for the Royal Dutch Shell plc subsidiary, Sarawak Shell Berhad, offshore Malaysia.

The US$3 million contract will see the Hallin saturation diving system operate from the J. Ray McDermott’s construction barge, the DB26, for at least the 2008 season.

This activity is part of the McDermott Field Development scope of works for Sarawak Shell Berhad, who are completing installation of offshore platforms and interconnecting subsea pipelines. Hallin Marine’s work scope’s primary focus is to provide saturation diving system and specialist diving personnel to support the subsea construction activities in water depths to 100m.

The work is due to commence 1st February and continue for the season, with potential options to extend thereafter.

Jon Attenburrow, the MD of Hallin Marine’s East Group, said: “We are pleased to be awarded these two important contracts from our existing clients.

“The contract for the riser installation work scope from Prosafe, who are a major FSO owner and operator, is a demonstration of the technical capabilities of Hallin Marine and reinforces its position as an international marine and subsea engineering contractor.

”Hallin is pleased to receive the contract award for the season for the saturation diving services from J. Ray McDermott for the second year running. They are one of the world’s leading offshore industry contractors and we again look forward to a successful campaign in support of their offshore operations.”
