  • JOHN GIDDENS, Founder & Chief Executive

    John founded Hallin Marine in Singapore in 1998 and has been responsible for managing the growth of the company through its 11 year history. He became Chief Executive of the expanding Hallin group in 2003, and oversaw Hallin’s floatation on the AIM market in April 2005 and sale to Superior Energy in 2010.

    John originally graduated from Britannia Royal Navy College and spent 11 years with the Royal Navy as a Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving Officer, qualified in specialist underwater operations. He served in Hong Kong, Gulf of Suez and Northern Ireland, and as a Diving Training Officer at the Navy School of Operations. For his last three years in the Royal Navy John served as Diving Officer on board the DP diving vessel HMS Challenger, helping develop new equipment and techniques.

    John then joined international diving contractor Fraser Diving, who specialized in portable saturation diving systems and other manned subsea intervention techniques. He worked in operations and business development in Brunei, Saudi Arabia and Dubai, and, in 1995, set up and ran a new business for the company in Vietnam before being appointed Fraser’s general manager for South East Asia operations two years later.

    John is a qualified saturation diver, supervisor and instructor and a member of a number of professional bodies, including the Society for Underwater Technology, and Member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers.

  • PHIL CHAMBERLAIN, Chief Operating Officer

    Phil was promoted to his current role in 2011 from the position as the company’s Managing Director Marine Division. Phil joined the Hallin team in 2009 and was the company’s first Marine Division managing director and has overseen operations for the company’s growing fleet of vessels including Newbuild constructions.

    Phil has over 25 years of operations and project management experience in the marine industry. This has included life at sea as a Marine Engineer, along with key management roles in operations, ship repair and modification and vessel design and construction. He later moved into business development involving vessels in the subsea, cargo, defence and port services sector. This role included the chartering of existing vessels and the development of new projects in Australasia, South East Asia and South America.

    Phil has a Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical) and has obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

  • JOHN PAYNE, Group Business Development Director

    John responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions as well as developing the groups’ capabilities and growth plan as a global subsea services contractor.

    John is a qualified Master Mariner with over 25 years Subsea and Marine experience.

    Since coming ashore in 1999 and prior to joining Hallin, John has held senior roles in general management, service delivery and is a chartered director, with experience of developing profitable business growth in excess of 400 million dollars and managing joint ventures in Asia and USA.

  • ANGUS COOPER, Group Sales Director

    Angus Cooper has over 35 years experience in the oil and gas, offshore renewable and security industries promoting both services and product sales. He has held a number of senior sales, marketing, business development and general management positions around the world including assignments in USA, Russia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and Far East.

    In his last role prior to joining Hallin, Angus was Business Development Director responsible for driving sales of new technology services into the oil and gas and offshore renewable wind sectors in European waters.

    Angus is a British citizen and he is based in Singapore.

  • EDWIN POO, Financial Director

    Edwin is responsible for all facets of Hallin’s finances. He joined Hallin in 2006 and was promoted to his current position in 2010. He was formerly Group Financial Controller where his responsibilities included the consolidation of group financial accounts and the preparation of management reports to the board.

    Previously he headed the accounts department of an American ship management company, reporting to numerous ship owners in the U.S., Japan, China, Greece and Singapore. After earning his accountancy degree, Edwin worked for a concert promoter, taking care of all its accounting needs and providing backstage support on concert days.

  • LILY LEE, Director of Administration

    Lily was general manager of Technilink in Singapore for two years, prior to which she performed a similar function to her present role for Fraser Diving.

    Lily also held senior positions for Fraser Diving in Vietnam and in Dubai. Before joining Fraser Diving she worked for a number of companies related to the oil and gas industry in her native Brunei.
    She is responsible for the personnel aspects of the Group, ensuring the right quality and quantity of divers, supervisors and back up staff is available in the right part of the world at the right time.

    As the company’s administration director, Lily is responsible, along with her team, for ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the group’s growing administration.

  • GIOVANNI CORBETTA, Managing Director West Division

    Giovanni joined Hallin Marine in August 2010 as Projects Director for West Division.
    A chartered engineer graduated from Milan Polytechnic with a Master Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Giovanni has over twenty years experience in offshore engineering and construction, mainly focused on diving and diverless  subsea operations. He worked in various roles covering almost all aspect of offshore operations (laying, subsea construction, IMR and field abandonment). Most recently in Saipem – Sonsub Division as Director of Special Projects in charge of strategic Lump Sum offshore construction projects and Division Manager for the Mediterranean, Caspian and Middle East Areas.

  • RIK ZWINKELS, Managing Director East Division

    Rik was appointed to run Hallin’s largest division at the start of 2010, having proved himself over two years as the Singapore-based projects director for the division.

    Dutch born Rik is a qualified engineer has extensive experience in the offshore construction industry and marine operations in both the Far East and Europe. He has worked for Heerema Marine Contractors, both in onshore installation and project engineering and offshore project execution with semi-submersible and mono-hull crane vessels. With SMIT, Rik gained experience in project tendering, sales, marketing and execution of heavy lift projects and commercial management for the terminals division in Asia. Most recently, before joining Hallin, Rik was employed by Vroon Offshore Services and was responsible for chartering and operations of its offshore fleet of vessels.

  • JOHN TUCKER, Managing Director Marine Division

    John joined Hallin as the Managing Director for Marine Division. John has worked, during his marine industry career, in a variety of roles including time at sea as a marine engineer, operational support, ship repair and new-build activities. He has fulfilled senior management roles in the area of marine operations and support, logistics and human resources, and was recently responsible to his previous employer for the delivery of seven new vessels and their transition to operations.

    John has worked internationally, which has included a three year period in Singapore.

  • SUNIL UCHIL, Managing Director Manufacturing Division

    Sunil is a professionally qualified shipbuilding engineer with a wealth of experience with dive systems. Sunil is also a qualified marine insurance surveyor and a member of American Bureau of Shipping’s (ABS’s) special committee on submersibles, underwater and hyperbaric systems.

    Sunil first joined Hallin Marine as an equipment manager in June 2006 before being promoted to operations, base & equipment manager in January 2008 where he held a greater job portfolio of managing the operations department, inclusive of ROV and diving equipment, base and workshop activities and was responsible for his department’s budget.

    Armed with broad-based management skills and technical knowledge, Sunil was later transferred to Hallin Manufacturing Services Pte Ltd to assume the role of General Manager in April 2009 where he led the operations department of the Manufacturing Division.

    Sunil was promoted to Managing Director of the Manufacturing Division in April 2010.

  • COLIN SHELLARD, General Manager of Prospect

    Colin graduated from the University of Dundee with a degree in Civil Engineering & Management and began his career in civil engineering working in Singapore.  Colin returned to the UK to work for Stolt Offshore Ltd, the later stages as a Field Engineer before moving to Sonsub (Saipem UK Ltd)  and reached the position of Principal Engineer.  In 2008, Colin joined J P Kenny, where he was employed as Operations Group Team Leader and had various differing assignments.

    Colin has been promoted to Prospect General Manager and will lead the Prospect business. Prior to the promotion, Colin was the UK Business Director. who was responsible for the day to day management of Prospect’s UK Business and is involved in all aspects including, operations, finance, sales recruitment, company strategy & HR.

  • JONATHAN PARKES, Deputy Managing Director & Commercial Director, West Division

    Jonathan joined Hallin Marine in June 2010 as Commercial Director for West Division.  A qualified barrister, Jonathan has considerable experience in various commercial and legal roles, both in and out of the oil and gas industry.  Before joining Hallin, Jonathan was Global Contracts Manager and Counsel for Integrated Subsea Services, an independent ROV and diving company, and, prior to that, was Global Contracts & Tendering Manager for i-Tech, the specialist ROV drill support division within Subsea 7.  Jonathan worked previously in the business process outsourcing industry, working for the UK’s leading professional services company.

  • FRANK HARTONG, Country Manager, Hallin Indonesia

    Frank, graduated in 1990 in the Netherlands, holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering. He started his career in Asia and currently clocks over 18 years of working experience in Indonesia. He has a wealth of insight into the culture and doing business there. He’s traveled throughout the country to visit projects in the Mining, Oil and Gas sector. Frank has worked in various leading management positions for organizations such as Skilled Engineering and RMI in the labor supply business, Svitzer in Marine and Offshore and International Crew Services (Atlas Services Group) in crewing. Frank joined PT Hallin Marine Indonesia in May 2010 and currently holds the position as Director in the company.

  • SIMON HIRD, Country Manager, Hallin Australia

    Simon joined Hallin in September 2010 as Country Manager for the company’s new Australian operation.

     Simon has over 32 years of experience in the subsea oil and gas sector gained with large and small engineering and subsea construction contractors and with a major oil and gas operator. Between 1993 and 2003, he was a partner and major shareholder in independent subsea engineering contractor Zenocean Limited which was later sold to New York-based investment group Monitor Oil PLC. He then took on a role as Vice President – Business Acquisition for UK subsidiary Monitor Offshore Systems Limited and remained Director and General Manager of Zenocean Limited.

    In 2008 he took up a position as Projects Director for Well Ops Asia Pacific, a division of Helix Energy Solutions based in Perth, Australia. In March 2009 he assumed the role of Business Development Manager, responsible for the department tasked with securing new business for Well Ops. In March 2010 he transferred internally to new joint venture company Clough Helix as Business Development Manager.

  • KURT COOPER, Projects Director, East Division

    Kurt started his career in 1980 working in the North Sea as a “gofer” on various diving work sites progressing up the air and sat diving route to Diving Supervisor and Offshore Construction Manager. During this period he also assisted in, non diving, subsea support operations and ROV supported construction projects.

    He commenced shore based project support work in Baku and Norway before arriving in Singapore to assist Acergy in multiple positions including offshore project planning and support, mobilizations and onshore base facilities QA/QC integration.

    Kurt worked at Caldive as a Project Manager before joining Hallin and is often considered as “poacher turned game keeper” by his offshore support teams and colleagues.

  • REMUS LIM TIEN POH, Finance Director, East Division

    Remus qualified in Singapore in 1995 ultimately becoming a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Before studying accountancy Remus spent two and a half years in the Singapore Army as an artillery officer. Remus was the regional accountant for Fraser Diving head office in Singapore for two and a half years, leaving in 1999 to join Interlocal Exim Pte Ltd.

    As head accountant at Interlocal Exim Pte Ltd he had the financial responsibilities for the group and its 10 subsidiaries and associates, reporting directly to the board. Remus was responsible for arranging that group’s complex banking and trading facilities.

    He joined the Group in April 2003 and is currently Finance Director for the East Division.

  • LISA WILSON, Vice President of USA Business, Prospect

    Lisa graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a degree in civil engineering and has a professional engineering license to practice in the State of Texas.  Prior to joining Prospect, Lisa held a number of senior business management, engineering and structural design positions, serving as vice president and partner of P.E.A, Texas, and recently before joining Prospect, Lisa held the position of Principal with A.E.C.

    As a native Houstonian, Lisa is based in Houston, Texas where she is responsible for business acquisition across the US and Gulf of Mexico regions and diversification of Prospect’s engineering services within energy related industries.

  • IVAR IVERSEN, Business Development Director of Prospect

    Norwegian-born Ivar is a graduate in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London and began his career in the Industrial and Offshore Engineering division of consultants Arup. Ivar was seconded to the Max-Planck Institute in Munich where he spent two years in the European fusion energy programme NET.

    Upon his return to Aberdeen, he joined Matthew Hall Engineering to work on Shell’s Brent Field Redevelopment, still focused on numerical methods in structural integrity. In 1997 he founded and led Amec’s Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) team. In 1999 he founded Prospect as an independent provider of computational mechanics services and is its technical director.

  • ALISTAIR GILL, Technical Director of Prospect

    Having graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Mechanical Engineering degree, Alistair spent the early part of his career in the defence sector, working on projects such as Eurofighter Typhoon. In 1998 Alistair joined Amec’s Advanced Engineering Services department. Prospect invited him to take up the position of Operations Director in the spring of 2002.

    In July 2006 Alistair moved to Houston, Texas, to head up Prospect Flow Solutions Inc as its President.
